Overlook Neighborhood Update (Aug. 16)

1) OKNA August general meeting

2) City of Gardens guide

1) OKNA August general meeting

Normally in August the Overlook Neighborhood Association holds a summer social in lieu of a general meeting. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are unable to do that this year. Instead, OKNA will hold a meeting via Zoom on Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 6:30 p.m. On the agenda are a presentation about Patton Square Park and proposed bylaws amendments.

Learn about the bylaws amendments here.

2) City of Gardens guide

The Portland Parks Foundation has created a free guide to the Portland region’s public gardens. The phone-friendly web guide offers photos, highlights, visitor information and COVID-19 guidelines for 17 of the region’s best publicly accessible gardens. It features internationally renowned Portland Japanese Garden and Lan Su Chinese Garden as well as lesser-known gems like the Rogerson Clematis Garden and Leach Botanical Garden.

As we all look for safe ways to get outdoors and relax, local gardens provide excellent spaces to explore. They also can provide inspiration for the many beautiful home gardens people maintain in the Overlook Neighborhood.
