1) Overlook Summer Social on Tuesday
Come meet your neighbors at the Overlook Neighborhood Summer Social on Tuesday, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Atomic Pizza (1936 N Killingsworth St.). The social replaces our August general meeting and is a chance for neighbors to get to know each other and the neighborhood association board in a less formal setting.
We’ll have a limited supply of pizza for everyone. Menu items and beverages will be available, too.
2) Movie in Overlook Park (Aug. 31)
The Overlook Neighborhood Association is excited to partner with Portland Parks & Recreation again this year to bring a free outdoor movie to Overlook Park. On Saturday, Aug. 31, we’ll watch Disney’s Moana.
There will be fun family events prior to the movie including music by the band Sakumuna beginning at 6:30. The movie will start just after dusk. Feel free to bring a picnic, but if you don’t, you’ll be able to buy Mexican food from Poblano Pepper and ice cream by Ben & Jerry’s.
Plan to arrive early with a lawn blanket or low-backed chairs to grab a prime viewing spot and to catch up with your neighbors. The park is served by the Yellow Max line, so there’s no need to drive.
