Overlook Neighborhood Update (April 5)

1) OKNA Board meeting

2) Overlook House egg hunt canceled

3) Trimet reduces bus and MAX service

4) Free online yoga classes

1) OKNA Board meeting

The Overlook Neighborhood Association Board will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday. View the agenda.

Due to current social distancing and shelter in place directives, the board will meet online using Zoom. Board meetings are open for the public to observe. If any resident would like to observe the meeting, email Board Chair Alexandra Degher at chair@overlookneighborhood.org for details how to connect before Tuesday at 5 p.m.

2) Overlook House egg hunt canceled

The Historic Overlook House has canceled its annual Easter egg hunt. At this time of social distancing, it is impossible to safely hold the event. Organizers will miss the bunnies and fierce egg hunt competition, but this is a necessary step.

We hope to see Overlook neighbors in the sunshine at the Overlook House ice cream social in August.

3) Trimet reduces bus and MAX service

Due to reduced ridership during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, Trimet will reduce service levels on many lines, including those passing through Overlook. Specifically:

  • MAX Yellow Line: On weekdays, trains will run every 15 minutes throughout most of the day. Weekends will follow Sunday service.
  • 35 Bus: Weekday service will run on a Saturday schedule but with service starting slightly earlier than a regular Saturday schedule. Weekend service will run on a Sunday schedule.
  • 72 Bus: Will run on regular weekday schedules. Weekend service will run on a Sunday schedule. There may be minor schedule adjustments, so please check the Trip Planner before traveling.

Visit the Trimet reduced services site for more details.

4) Free online yoga classes

Stay fit and relax during this stressful time. Overlook’s Firelight Yoga is offering free live-stream classes during the shelter in place order. Visit their website to sign up and check the schedule.
