Explore Northeast Portland and Win Prizes!

There’s still two weeks left in Sunday Parkways “Choose Your Own Adventure” routes and Sticker Hunt presented by Kaiser Permanente. Have you had a chance to explore the newest route launched in Northeast Portland at the beginning of September? Check out the Sunday Parkways page for rules and instruction, then make your way around Northeast Portland, visiting four Portland parks for fun, exercise and PRIZES.

Take a peek at the route on the interactive Google Map. The game ends Sept. 30, and it only takes one text entry to be eligible for some amazing grand prizes, so get out and start exploring!

Broadway Bridge day closures September 18-20 for upgrade

If you haven’t noticed, the Broadway Bridge is experiencing closures this weekend and through Monday September 20th. The 108-year-old bridge is going through repairs of the lift span operating system, and will be closed to all traffic including vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians from 6am – 6pm.

The Steel Bridge is the nearest alternate crossing for bicyclists, pedestrians and motor vehicles. TriMet’s Broadway #17 bus will detour to the Steel Bridge during the closures.  Portland Streetcar A and B Loop service will run across the Tilikum Crossing, turning back at NW 10th and NW Northrup on the west side and N Broadway and N Ross on the east side. For information about Portland Streetcar service, visit www.portlandstreetcar.org/alerts.

If the work cannot be completed this weekend, there is a possibility the bridge will be closed during the day the weekend of September 25-26. This will be confirmed early next week.
