2. Annual Overlook House Neighborhood Ice Cream Social – August 1

WE ARE BACK and it’s time for our Annual Overlook House Neighborhood Ice Cream Social. Join us at the Overlook House Rose Garden for an evening of music, ice cream, and human interaction!
Sunday August 1, 2021 6-8pm We will be featuring a fully staffed sundae bar and lactose-free options for all our neighbors. We can’t wait to see you!

3. Heritage Tree Bike Ride – August 7

Bike to 10 nearby Heritage Trees in Overlook on Saturday, August 7. The first group will meet at 10am in Peninsula Park near the NE corner of Albina and Ainsworth and will end in the Overlook neighborhood.  If you still have the energy and interest to see more Heritage Trees, you can join the afternoon bikers who will ride to Cathedral Park, Columbia Park, Pier Park and the Charles Jordan Community Center. They will meet at the Columbia Cottage (facing Lombard Street) in Columbia Park at 2pm.

Both routes are six to eight miles long. Participants will be traveling on bike corridors and only crossing busy streets with crosswalks and traffic lights. These two guided rides will have bike leaders, sweep bikes at the end to guide slower cyclists, and people who will share information about each tree’s species, history and reason for its Heritage Tree designation.

These bike rides will be a fun way to get some exercise, visit some North Portland neighborhoods, learn something new about trees and meet some new people. Try it, you may like it!

4. OKNA Social Event – August 17

Save the date! We’re still finalizing the details, but we do know we will be having our annual Overlook Neighborhood Association social event on Tuesday, August 17. More info to come, so stay on the look out.
