3) Save the Frogs Presentation with HiNooN (9/11)

Our Hayden Island neighborhood association HiNooN is entertaining an internationally acclaimed speaker, Michael Starkey, of Save The Frogs at their Thursday Sept 11th meeting in Oxford Suites, 12226 N Jantzen Dr, Portland, OR 97217, at 7pm. You are all welcome!

About the Presentation:
Amphibian populations around the world are declining at an alarming rate and nearly one-third of the world’s amphibian species are on the verge of extinction. Up to 200 species have completely disappeared since 1979. This is not normal! Why is this happening? What is causing this Amphibian Extinction Crisis? How can you help? SAVE THE FROGS’ Advisory Committee Chairman Michael Starkey answers these questions by explaining what is causing the Amphibian Extinction Crisis and informs the audience about how we as a society can help out amphibians around the globe. Founded in 2008, SAVE THE FROGS! is America’s first and only public charity dedicated to amphibian conservation. Our mission is to protect amphibian populations and to promote a society that respects and appreciates nature and wildlife. The presentation features many of Mr. Starkey’s photos of amphibians from around the world, and there will be a question and answer session following the presentation.

7) BDS Customer Survey Now Online

Bureau of Development Services is excited to announce that for the first time ever we have launched an online survey to gather feedback from all our customers and stakeholders. This initiative is a crucial element of our strategy to continuously improve our customer service. The survey is now online at www.BDSSurvey.com and is open to all through September 15th, 2014. It is also available via the BDS website at www.BDSSurvey.com. We would really appreciate you taking a few minutes to fill out this short survey to let us know what we are doing well and what we can do better. Please forward this information to others who might want to participate.

Upon receiving input and feedback, the bureau will analyze and implement necessary changes and improvements to our services and programs, where possible. Other approaches to our customer service improvement program include reaching out directly to recent permit and land use applicants, as well as providing easy ways for customers to give confidential feedback at any time.
