1) Overlook House tour nights come to a close
A long-standing event at Overlook House is making way for new efficiency: As of March 1, Overlook House will no longer hold public tours on Tuesday evenings. Instead, interested parties are encouraged to contact Coordinator Jessica Coolidge to arrange a tour. Jessica has found that potential clients prefer a custom tour, and they often have specific questions that she is able to answer quickly and easily during this face-to-face meeting, making for a better experience for everyone.

2) Nature Walks for Kids (March-May)
Tadpole Tales brought to you by the Columbia Slough Watershed Council
Children aged 3-5 with their parents are invited to a short story and guided nature walk. Watch birds fly overhead, search for hidden animal homes, and learn about local trees and flowers. Topics will vary each week at each location. Topics include: pond life, birds, dirt and worms, and mammals. Routes are accessible to strollers. Families are welcome to bring a snack. Advanced registration required by emailing intern@columbiaslough.org or calling 503-281-1132.
When: Wednesdays, March-May
Time: 10 -11 AM
Cost: $3 admission/donation per child, no charge for adults.

5) City Says, Don’t Park at Timbers Games (paraphrased)
NEWS RELEASE
Consider transportation options and parking decisions before Timbers game
( PORTLAND , Ore. ) – The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation is asking Timbers soccer fans to consider their transportation options and parking decisions before Sunday’s opening game day to keep streets and transit running smoothly. Drivers are encouraged to park downtown in a SmartPark garage and walk, or use an express bus to get to the game instead of parking in neighborhoods near Jeld-Wen Field. Walking and bicycling are good options, too, as well as arriving early or staying late on game day to avoid crowds and traffic congestion.
Event-goers are encouraged to check out transportation and parking information online at www.trimet.org and www.portlandoregon.gov/transportation/timbers and make a plan before leaving home for the game. With streets and sidewalks expected to be crowded on game day near Jeld-Wen Field, fans are advised to be careful and patient and follow directions by Police and signage in the area.
