3) Friends of Overlook Bluff Restoration project (10/6)
Please join us on Saturday, October 6 from 9am -1pm for the first project in the Friends of Overlook Bluff’s escarpment restoration. FOOB is partnering with SOLVE and Jim Schiller, Watershed Revegetation Program Supervisor for the City of Portland Environmental Services. We will be removing invasive species from the bluff below the oak savannah. Be a part of the preservation and restoration of the corridor of Oregon white oak and Pacific madrone habitat that once extended from Vancouver, BC to California. Experience the sloped east side of the Willamette River as we work to bring back a healthy balance of its undergrowth. We will start the day off with coffee and homemade donuts and finish with a potluck picnic on the bluff under the Heritage Oregon white oak.
