Special neighborhood update: A movie crew and noise variance

A couple of late-breaking items have come up for the Overlook Neighborhood. A film shoot could cause minor delays on Tuesday afternoon, and a construction project is seeking a noise variance.

Expect delays at the Going Street pedestrian overpass on Tuesday

A film crew making a Disney movie entitled “Timmy Failure” will shoot drone footage in Overlook on Tuesday, 2-8 p.m. They will set up around the N Going Street pedestrian overpass and the nearby water tower.

During filming, vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle traffic will be held for short durations on nearby streets. This will include holding traffic from crossing the pedestrian bridge. If you wish to avoid delays, you should choose another route to your destination for one day.

Please welcome the film crew to our neighborhood and be respectful around them while they work. This is an opportunity to showcase the Overlook charm and beauty that neighbors get to enjoy every day.

The film crew will return to Overlook later in the summer for additional shooting. We’ll keep you informed as we learn more about when and where.

Work hours extension sought for N Maryland project

The developer of Aniva Apartments project located at 5009 N Interstate Ave. is seeking a noise variance to extend work hours for the project to 5 a.m.-7 p.m.  This is the project underway on the Northwest corner of Interstate and Alberta. Any neighbors who wish to support or oppose this request can do so by emailing noise@portlandoregon.gov. The city will make a decision soon, so don’t delay.
