Monday, April 11th, the Overlook Neighborhood Association Board will be holding a make-up executive meeting on Zoom from 6:30 – 8 p.m due to our Meet the Candidates Night. This meeting (as for all our meetings) is open to the public and all are welcome to join. View the agenda for this meeting below.

2. Spring Overlook Community Cleanup: April 30, 2022
The Overlook Neighborhood Association (OKNA) and Remove By Bike are joining forces for a spring cleanup event, Saturday, April 30! Volunteers will spread out on foot (or wheel) throughout the neighborhood to pick up litter. Haulers with bikes and trailers will be on call to transport bags to waiting dumpsters. If you are interested in being part of the hauling crew, get in touch before the event! Email: removebybike@gmail.com

What’s Provided: Blend Coffee will be providing coffee for our volunteers. SOLVE will provide trash grabbers, bags, work gloves, and high-vis vests. And Advice Booth is excited to host volunteers afterward for a special volunteer discount and Trashy Hour!
What to Bring: Please come wearing comfortable close-toed shoes, and dress appropriately for the weather. Bring a refillable water bottle and a backpack so you can be hands-free. If you have your own grabbers or gloves, please bring them as supplies from SOLVE may be limited. You can also ride your bike if you’d like to use it to get farther afield. And if you have a bike trailer suitable for hauling bagged garbage, all the better!
Parking: Parking near the park is limited. Walking or taking the max is encouraged if possible.
Restrooms: There are no facilities nearby. Please plan accordingly.

3. Limited Space Available: Overlook Community Social: May 15, 2022
If you have not already registered, please register for the event ASAP. Entry to the event will be extremely limited at the door. If you are planning to attend, please register to guarantee entry. The final batch of tickets has now been released online.
The community social will be held at the Historic Overlook House, Sunday, May 15 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The social is a free event open to Overlook Residents and will include beverages from Level Beer, Wayfinder Beer, pFriem, cider from Son of Man, Red Wine from PDX Wine, and sausages from Revel Meat Company.
Please note: Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for all in attendance (regardless of age) and you must present a non-expired ID or Passport and be 21+ to consume alcoholic beverages. Proof of vaccination will be checked at the door along with your identification as required by the OLCC (Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission).

Nature Patch Volunteers needed for Weeding and Mulching: May 19, 2022
The Overlook Neighborhood Association and Portland Parks and Recreation are seeking volunteers to help weed and mulch the new natural patch garden at Overlook Park. Wanting to pitch in and help keep the Overlook Park Nature Patch beautiful? The next volunteer day will be Friday, May 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

5. Charter Commission unanimously advances the proposal to reform Portland’s elections and form of government; voters will get the final say.
This November, Portland voters will likely decide on foundational issues for the City of Portland and its residents: the city’s form of government and elections system. The Charter Commission proposal would allow voters to rank candidates, create geographic districts, expand the size of the city council and change Portland’s form of government.
