Community Care Day for Beach Elementary and Ockley Green Middle School Saturday, August 17th, 2024 10am-12pm
Students will soon be headed back to school, Solve Oregon are teaming up with teachers, students, administrators, and local community members to clean up litter around our local Portland schools and revive our campuses before the first day of school.
Volunteers will complete tasks such as weeding, litter pick-up, pruning bushes, reviving gardens, and spreading mulch around flower beds and trees. So bring your gloves, gardening tools, and positive attitudes!

Overlook Neighborhood Social in the Park on Saturday, August 17, 2024 12pm-3pm!
Our monthly meeting will be casual in August… in fact, we’ve reserved Patton Square Park in the heart of Overlook for a get together with snacks, drinks and neighbors. Games for kids, music jams and FREE SHAVE ICE from 1pm-3pm!
When: Come to the park from 12pm – 3pm on Saturday, August 17 and celebrate summer with your neighbors!
Where: N Interstate Avenue at N Emerson, next to the Historic Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center

Made-in-Overlook Show Fogtown Premiers Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 7pm
The highly anticipated pilot episode of Sherlock Holmes-esque FOGTOWN © premieres 7:00 pm, Thursday August 22nd at a special event in Portland, Ore. hosted by PAMCUT at The Tomorrow Theater. Cast and creators will also take the stage then to describe FOGTOWN’s decade-long journey — from its incarnation to pandemic-influenced transformation along with its breakthrough foray into the gaming world, the latter of which eager attendees of the event will get to experience firsthand.
Jazz Concert with Northwest Tempo Sunday, August 25th at 4pm

Portland City Council – District 2 Candidate Mixer – Thursday, August 29th 6:30-8pm
This will be a candidate Mixer with all of those Candidates for City Council who have filed to run for a position on City Council. There will be fliers on how to vote with the new ranked choice voting. Pizza and beverages will be provided as well.
