1) Wonder Woman in Overlook Park a huge success
More than 1,000 people turned out for the showing of the movie Wonder Woman in Overlook Park last weekend. The weather was great, and dozens of kids came in costume. Even Speaker of the Oregon House Tina Kotek came out for the fun.

2) OKNA board elections on Sept. 18
The Overlook Neighborhood Association will hold its annual business meeting on Sept. 18. At the meeting, residents will get to vote for up to 15 board members. Anyone interested in appearing on the prepared ballot should send an email to info@overlookneighborhood.org by 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Eligible members also may declare a write-in candidacy at the meeting.

3) Public Campaign Finance Commission seeks members
Portland is seeking members for its new Public Campaign Finance Commission (a.k.a. Open and Accountable Elections Commission). The commission will help implement and oversee the city’s new Open and Accountable Elections program.
The Open and Accountable Elections program seeks to reduce the influence of money in politics, enable Portlanders without wealthy networks to run for and win elected office, and ensure that the city government is reflective of and accountable to all Portlanders.
To apply, please fill out the application form (pdf) and submit it to susan.mottet@portlandoregon.gov. The first round of review will be Oct. 1, but applications will continue to be accepted after that date.
4) North/Northeast Public Safety Action Committee
The Public Safety Action Committee (PSAC) maintains partnerships between police, neighborhoods and businesses in North and Northeast Portland. Members identify public safety issues in neighborhoods and support development and implementation of strategies to manage livability concerns.
If you’re interested in helping make neighborhoods safer, the next PSAC meeting takes place on Sept. 13, 6-8 p.m. at the North Precinct Community Room (449 NE Emerson St.). The agenda will include time to talk one-on-one with police, park rangers, crime prevention coordinators and other stakeholders, a brief presentation from the PPB gang enforcement team, updates from bureau and community organization representatives, and setting goals for future meetings.
5) Register to vote
There’s an election coming up on Nov. 6 with a host of races on it from Congress down to city council and local ballot measures. Are you registered to vote? You can verify your voter registration information ore register for the first time online.
The deadline to register or update your information is Oct. 16. Make sure your vote counts.
