1) OKNA general meeting on Tuesday
The Summer Solstice arrives this week. Join your Overlook Neighbors on one of the longest days of the year for the Overlook Neighborhood Association monthly general meeting. We’ll hear about a development proposal on N Montana Avenue, the board will discuss adidas, and we’ll plan content for the summer issue of OKNA’s quarterly newsletter. View the full agenda.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18 at Kaiser Town Hall (3704 N Interstate Ave.)
Note: An announcement a couple of weeks ago misstated the date of the meeting. The correct date is June 18, the third Tuesday of the month. OKNA apologizes for the error and any confusion.
2) Street work on N Albina Avenue
The Portland Bureau of Transportation has begun work on N Albina Avenue between N Rosa Parks Way and N Skidmore Street. Crews will work on the weekdays and occasional weekends, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. with periodic lane closures during that time. Expect delays in the area.
The lane closures will allow crews to grind and pave 2.44 lane miles of pavement. Streets with ground down surfaces are open for travel. Lane closures are only in effect during project hours. Access will be maintained for businesses and residents during the project.
Please travel cautiously, observe all lane closures and directions by reader boards and flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible.
Following the repaving, new lane striping will change the turn configuration at some intersections. Learn more about the project.
3) Share your thoughts with Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty
Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty will hold a community forum in North Portland on Saturday, June 29. The meeting will run 10-noon (doors open at 9:30) at the Charles Jordan Community Center (9009 N Foss Ave.) RSVPs are required to attend. Reserve your spot online.
Upon arriving, attendees will indicate the issue most important to them. The top 3 issues will be discussed by attendees in facilitated breakout conversations. Hardesty says she will use what she hears to inform her priorities and policies going forward.
