3) I-5 ramps at Alberta to close

1) Happy New Year

The Overlook Neighborhood Association hopes you and yours had a wonderful holiday season. We look forward to working with neighbors in 2020 on the issues that matter most to them and keeping Overlook Portland’s best neighborhood.

2) ) OKNA Board Meeting

The Overlook Neighborhood Association Board will meet on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Historic Overlook House. The agenda includes a discussion about tolling on I-5, the upcoming neighborhood newsletter and more. The meeting is open to anyone who wishes to attend and observe.

3) I-5 ramps at Alberta to close

A reminder that the Interstate 5 southbound exit ramp (Exit 303) to N Alberta Street/Swan Island will close for a week starting at 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5 and re-opening at 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12. Signs will direct travelers to detours, but all motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists in Overlook should exercise extra caution as some drivers will be driving down unfamiliar streets.

The recommended detour (see map) is out to NE Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard. Residents of Overlook, however, probably would be better served exiting at N Rosa Parks Way and making a left to Interstate, Denver or Greeley.

The I-5 northbound on-ramp from Alberta will close for a week from Sunday, Jan. 12, at 9 p.m. to Sunday, Jan. 19 at 9 p.m.
