1) April OKNA general meeting canceled
The Overlook Neighborhood Association will not hold a general meeting on April 18. Please mark your calendar for the May 16 meeting.
2) Prepare for a Cascadia earthquake the Overlook’s NET (April 10)
Join your neighbors in preparing for a Cascadia earthquake and other disasters in a conversational meeting Monday evening. The Overlook NET regular meeting is Monday evening. Topics on the agenda include preparing for team leader elections in June and joint exercises with the Arbor Lodge NET on July 15.
The meeting begins at 6:30. Curious neighbors are invited to show up between 6 and 6:30 to get caught up and ask questions. Anyone wanting to check range or just practice using radios can call channel 5, also between 6 and 6:30.

3) Overlook House Eggsravaganza (April 15)
The Easter Bunny will hop by Overlook House early on Saturday, April 15 for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Be there at 10:30 a.m. sharp with your basket – the hunt is over in less than five minutes! Discover thousands of eggs filled with treats, plus lots of other toys spread on the back lawns of Overlook House. Find a golden egg and look inside for your special prize.
This fun event happens rain or shine and is presented free for neighborhood children (ages 1-6 years) by the Friends of Overlook House.

4) North Portland grant opportunity
The 2017 grant season for the Lester Viles North Portland Project Association is now open. They award micro grants to businesses, charitable organizations and other groups in North Portland, with a focus on benefiting the neighborhood. This is the legacy of Lester Viles, a long-time North Portland resident, business owner and booster. Applications are due no later than May 31. See visit lvnppa.org for details and an application.
5) Help Portland oversee its marijuana industry
The City of Portland’s Cannabis Program seeks applicants for the 2017-18 Cannabis Policy Oversight Team (CPOT).
CPOT is the City of Portland’s cannabis policy advisory group made up of community members, cannabis industry members and health officials (among other stakeholders). CPOT facilitates discussion about cannabis policy to ensure that Portland’s cannabis regulations are fair for businesses, maintain the safety and livability of our neighborhoods, and reflect Portland’s values.
