Overlook Neighborhood Update (April 28)

1) Eat pizza, support Patton Square Park Playground

2) Stipends for neighborhood artists

3) Fire alarm at adidas on Tuesday morning

1) Eat pizza, support Patton Square Park Playground

Don’t forget that tomorrow (Monday) if you eat at Atomic Pizza, you’ll help raise money for the Patton Square Park Playground. Atomic Pizza on Killingsworth generously will donate a portion of sales to the playground project. (Thank you, Jenna!) Atomic is open for dine-in and carryout 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. that day.

Please join your neighbors in supporting this important project to improve the usability of the playground, especially for children under the age of five. Many more families with young children are moving into the neighborhood, and these much-needed improvements will make the playground a safe and fun space for them.

2) Stipends for neighborhood artists

Elisabeth Jones Art Center is looking for artists in the Overlook Neighborhood to take part in their July 2 exhibition promoting the work of Portland’s neighborhood associations. They have more than 30 stipends available worth $50 to $1,000.

Chosen artists from Overlook will make artwork inspired by the achievements of the Overlook Neighborhood Association. Visit the Elisabeth Jones website for more information.

3) Fire alarm at adidas on Tuesday morning

Adidas will conduct a mandatory fire alarm/strobe testing on Tuesday morning (April 30). The test will begin at 5:30 a.m. in the west side buildings and at 6 a.m. on the east side. They should last about a half hour and are for the interior only, but neighbors might hear it.
