  1. Future Nature Patch at Overlook Park – Info Meeting July 17

Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) plans to create a nature patch at Overlook Park to foster pollinator habitat and to add features worthy of exploring. This natural garden space will be located below Overlook Boulevard at the north slope of the park next to the apartment building and will include flowering native plants, a path, and log and boulder seating. Planning is underway and landscape alterations will begin this fall, with planting to follow through winter 2022.

To get your feedback on the draft plans, PP&R project coordinator, Eric Rosewall, invites you to join him on Saturday, July 17, at 10am at the north slope. Neighbors will have an opportunity to review and discuss the plans with Eric and to walk through the project site. If you can’t make this on-site meeting, you can share your comments at www.portland.gov/parks/overlook-park or call Eric at 503-341-0855.

2. Someone Impersonating OKNA

It has come to the attention of the Overlook Neighborhood Association board that someone has been impersonating us. This person has taped a letter to at least one resident’s door claiming that we oppose the display of American flags on his property. To be clear, the OKNA board did not write this letter, had no knowledge of it until it was brought to our attention, and condemns the language contained in the letter. If you have any information about these letters, please contact us at info@overlookneighborhood.org.

3. PBOT: Columbia Lombard Mobility Corridor Plan, Upcoming Council Date

The Columbia/Lombard Mobility Corridor Plan is a plan to address safety, mobility, and access for freight, active transportation, and public transit both along the corridor (east/west) and across it (north/south).

After two years of community engagement, advisory committee meetings, and technical analysis, a final recommended draft of the Columbia / Lombard Mobility Corridor Plan is being presented to City Council on July 21st at 2pm. You can provide testimony on a specific project or the plan beforehand using the MapApp, or sign up to provide testimony virtually at the meeting..
