1) Pee-eww, What’s That Smell?
We’ve heard from many Overlook neighbors over this past month asking “What stinks?” There are some industrial odors that have been making their way over the bluff, sometimes as far into the neighborhood as the freeway.

Neighbors for Clean Air have made presentations to the OKNA membership previously but smell activity seems to have increased. Please take a few minutes to get familiar with the heavy lifting already done by these groups and if you feel moved to act, they are surely always looking for new energy and assistance.
NPAQ plans a public meeting on Monday, September 30 at 7pm. Location TBD, stay tuned.

2) 20th Annual Polish Festival! (9/21-22)
Two festive days of the best Polish food, dance and music. The best in the Northwest Polish Festival!
The Polish Festival is an event for families and singles, adults and children, for food connoisseurs, music lovers, concert goers, dance enthusiasts, … It is for everyone.
During the festival, we provide non-stop stage performances, including a few dance groups and music bands, polka contest on Saturday and Sunday, a street dance, delicious Polish food and imported Polish beer.
Saturday: Sept 21, 2013 11am – 10pm
Sunday, Sept 22, 2013 noon – 6pm

Over 15,000 people are expected to attend the festival. It is prepared and run by over 300 volunteers organized by the Polish Community.

3) Rock n’ Roll or Hip Hop for Girls
Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp for Girls presents after school programs beginning on Tuesday October 1 and Thursday October 3, 2013. After school programming allows girls to explore their musical skills in a more focused environment. The program runs for 10 weeks and meets at the IFCC/Ethos Cultural Center on N Interstate. Offerings include Girls Rock Institute (GRI) and Hip Hop Elements. NO equipment or experience is necessary.

4) Community Legacy Program Open House (10/5)
You are invited to an Open House celebration sponsored by The Community Legacy Program of Our United Villages.
