2) PBOT Schedules More Street Fee Workgroups
The Portland Bureau of Transportation has posted the rosters and schedules of upcoming meetings for the workgroups that will advise on the Our Streets PDX transportation funding community conversation. While the meetings are open to the public, public testimony will not be taken. Comments and questions can be submitted to TUF_Administrator@portlandoregon.gov

Now is the time to sign up as a participating household and make it on the map for this year’s Overlook Yard Sale & Free Share. If you would like to sign up, e-mail Josh with your home’s address at sustainable@OverlookNeighborhood.org by this Monday the 14th in order to be included on the event map. Decluttering your home and getting unwanted items into the hands of neighbors who would happily reuse them is just one small way of making our neighborhood more environmentally and socially sustainable..

6) Volunteer Call! Bridge Pedal Rest Area (8/10)
We’re looking for some early-rising Overlookers to volunteer at this year’s Providence Bridge Pedal. OKNA member Alan Cranna staffs the rest station in St Johns and he donates $25 for each volunteer to OKNA for the fun and useful activities we sponsor each year. This is a great way for you to make a contribution to OKNA that will be appreciate all year long.

7) Portland Protected Sick Time Best Practices Forum (7/29)
Do you have questions about Portland’s Protected Sick Time Ordinance?
Join City of Portland employees for a public forum on July 29th at Portland Building, Conference Room C from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The Forum is intended to support businesses implementing Portland’s Protected Sick Time (PPST) Ordinance*. This will be an opportunity for employers, human resource personnel, business service providers, employees and consultants to share their challenges, solutions, and best practices for policies and procedures that address the new law.

8) Portland Food Project Seeks Green Bag Donors
The Portland Food Project is an all Volunteer non profit that provides an ongoing supply of non perishable food to local pantries. We accomplish this by encouraging Green Bag donors (we have almost 1,000) to have their bag on their porch every 8 weeks. A Neighborhood Coordinator then picks up their bag and the food is distributed that day (next is Saturday, Aug 9th) to our 12 local food pantries. We are seeking 1) Green Bag donors 2) Neighborhood Coordinators 3) Another North Portland pantry We would like to make mealtime a bit easier for North Portlanders who are dealing with issues of hunger. The dramatic redevelopment occurring along Mississippi Avenue today is merely the latest chapter in the remarkable and unique history of this neighborhood. From an electric streetcar line to “real estate redlining”, this tour explores the cultural and economic changes that have shaped Boise’s built environment. Tour-goers will see some of the finest examples of late-19th century working-class homes in Portland, built primarily by Scandinavian, German, and Polish immigrants. You will also see some hidden architectural gems and a forgotten dance hall that once housed a temple of the Nation of Islam.
