2. All Musician Jam Sessions at The Historic Overlook House (5/2)
O House Jam Continues
Well, these first few jams have been a lot of fun. Each meeting has been an eclectic mix of some regulars and some new folks, but always a good time. As a reminder, we meet on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month at 7:00 PM at the Overlook House (upstairs) — so the next one will be this Monday, May 2nd. Even if you haven't made the earlier jams, you're always welcome to any of them. Bring yourself and your instrument to the Overlook House. All instruments (including voice), all abilities, and all genres are welcome

3. Cinco de Mayo Concert at Ethos/IFCC! (5/4)
Join Ethos at the IFCC on Wednesday May 4th for a special performance by son jarocho musician, Laura Rebolloso. The show starts at 7:30pm at the IFCC located at 5340 N Interstate Ave. Tickets are $15 general admission, and $10 for students and seniors with ID.
Laura Rebolloso is a 21st century poet and troubadour rooted in the four-hundred ye
ar old son jarocho tradition from Veracruz, Mexico. She is a founding member of the internationally acclaimed band Son de Madera and has appeared alongside luminaries such as Susanna Baca and Pablo Milanes. Now she is fronting her own group featuring musicians from Seattle and Los Angeles. Collectively represented within the group are a wealth of musical influences from rock to jazz to salsa to hip hop and, of course, son jarocho.
The concert will also feature Martha Gonzalez, a powerhouse front woman for the East L.A.-based chicano rock band, Quetzal, as well as pianist Alex Chadsey and bassist Juan Perez.

4. Second Annual IFM Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser (5/7)
IFM Benefit, Save the Date for Pancakes!
Saturday May 7th from 9am – 12 noon
De La Salle High School (our Saturday market location!)
7528 N Fenwick, right next to the intersection of N. Interstate and Lombard
The Interstate Farmers Market is adding a new Saturday market at De La Salle High School. And to celebrate we're holding our annual Pancake Breakfast at our new weekend home.
Kicking off the Season with Good Food and Entertainment
The whole family is welcome, for a delicious breakfast of blueberry pancakes and bacon, and juice and coffee, generously donated by our partners.
We'll kick off this new market season with an upbeat mood with live music by children's entertainer, “Uncle Yascha,” and lots of other fun. And to help our vendors get ready for opening day we'll have market tokens for sale.
This important event will help us all get geared up and excited for BOTH our Wednesday/Overlook Park market and our new Saturday/Lombard market, as well as raise funds that go into program development and marketing of IFM.
Vendors’ fees cover the basic cost of operating the markets, but in order to keep vendors’ fees as low as possible and still fund educational outreach and special community programs, we ask our community for extra support once a year.
If you can't make it on May 7th but would still like to support IFM, you can still Donate via PayPal.
We Heart Volunteers
We’d love to have your volunteer help for this event as well, so all you home chefs, expert juice servers and friendly socializers, give us a call or an email so we can sign you up!
Thanks so much for your year-round support of your local, independent farmers market!
See you at breakfast!
