The Neighbor Music Jams at the Overlook House have been a lot of fun.  Each meeting has been an eclectic mix of some regulars and some new folks, but always a good time. As a reminder, we meet on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month at 7:00 PM at the Overlook House (upstairs) — so the next one will be this Monday August 1st. Even if you haven't made the earlier jams, you're always welcome to any of them. Bring yourself and your instrument to the Overlook House. All instruments (including voice), all abilities, and all genres are welcome.

5) Fremont Bridge Paving Project – First Full Weekend Closure Is This Weekend (Now)

REMINDER: First Full Closure of the Fremont Bridge Southbound is this Weekend (July 29-August 1)

Fremont Bridge: Upper Deck Paving Project Update – Summer 2011
A contractor for the Oregon Department of Transportation is working on a project to repave the top deck (southbound direction) of the Fremont Bridge, which carries I-405 traffic across the Willamette River into downtown Portland .

The Fremont Bridge repaving work will take place over several weekends, including the full closure of

the upper deck for three weekends. In addition, the contractor will use multiple lane closures on the upper deck of the bridge during weeknights to complete staging and other construction work during the summer and fall.

As of July 28, the contractor's latest schedule is:

** Full Closure of the Upper Deck: Friday, July 29, at 11 p.m., to Monday, August 1, at 5 a.m. — upper deck closed (southbound); all ramps to the upper deck are also closed

** Full Closure of the Upper Deck: Friday, August 5, at 11 p.m., to Monday, August 8, at 5 a.m. — upper deck closed (southbound); all ramps to the upper deck are also closed

** Full Closure of the Upper Deck: Friday, August 19, at 11 p.m., to Monday, August 22, at 5 a.m. — upper deck closed (southbound); all ramps to the upper deck are also closed

DETOUR: During the full closure of the Fremont Bridge, motorists on I-5 south will be directed to continue on I-5 south to I-405 north to their destination.

**Please remember that the schedule is subject to change due to weather, equipment or other factors. We will update the project website (see below), as well as the http://www.TripCheck.com and 5-1-1 travel information systems, with the latest information when available.

More information about the project can be found at the website, http://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/HWY/REGION1/1405_Fremont
