SHARING IDEAS: Sharing Skills and Resources
Discover grassroots projects that strengthen our social fabric!
Come connect with community at our next Sharing Ideas event, Sharing Skills and Resources. This freeevent, sponsored by Community Legacy Program of Our United Villages, is on Thursday, November 21st, from 6pm to 8pm at Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods, 4815 NE 7th Avenue, Portland, OR 97211. Sharing Ideas events illuminate positive, grassroots efforts of neighbors, volunteer groups and organizations throughout Portland that foster shared understanding. Presenters will provide inspirational insights revealing how they moved their project ideas into action, where they are today and their future hopes and dreams.
This Sharing Ideas presentation features two local projects that bring people together from a variety of backgrounds to share skills and resources:
· Repair PDX is a volunteer led group that organizes repair cafés all over Portland, inviting participants to bring their broken items to get fixed for free.
· Outgrowing Hunger is a nonprofit founded in 2011 to create participatory opportunities for improving the accessibility and affordability of fresh produce.
Please RSVP online or by phone at 503.546.7499. The event is free and open to the community! Refreshments will be provided. Childcare (9 and under), transportation, and interpretation are provided upon request, with 48 hours advanced notice.
