1) OKNA General Meeting This Week (11/15)
Join your neighbors for the monthly meeting of your neighborhood association, Tuesday, November 15. We meet at 7:00 pm at the Kaiser Town Hall at 3704 N Interstate Ave (at N Overlook Blvd).
On the agenda:
-Portland Bureau of Transportation representatives will update us on traffic changes for N Skidmore, N Interstate and N Concord, all a result of the Going To the River project.
-Trees, trees and more about trees. Join us for a discussion on tree care, after the planting. With the push for planting more trees, are we taking care of them afterward? Neighbor Sharon kicked off this conversation and everyone has something to contribute to it.
-Public Safety Update, Holiday Potluck details and much much more. See you there!

3) Tree Summit: Help create a neighborhood tree plan (11/19)
Saturday 11/19, 2011, 9am-4pm; St. Johns Community Center 8427 N Central St.
During the summer of 2011 many neighbors volunteered hundred of hours inventorying the street trees in Overlook and five other neighborhoods.
Join with Portland Parks & Rec Urban Forestry staff and interested community volunteers to find out what we learned from all that counting. Street tree health, under-planted areas, species diversity, tree maintenance, and work sessions to begin to formulate a tree plan for our neighborhood.
Free, but must pre-register. To register contact Angie DiSalvo 503 823 4484; angie.disalvo@portlandoregon.gov .

4) Another Facebook Page
Neighbor Laurie Taylor writes in: “As an Overlook resident, I felt there was a need to create a new format for residents to share information about our neighborhood. On October 19th, I launched the Facebook page called the Overlook Neighborhood Community (OKNC.) This will include, but is not limited, to crime and safety issues, neighborhood events, help for residents looking for referrals and more. This is a non-partisan, diverse organization and welcomes all residents within the Overlook Neighborhood boundaries. Julie Rawls, Carol Padden and myself are the administrators of this new & exciting “line of communication” for Overlook. We welcome the opportunity to share information and events happening by hearing from YOU, the
