This weekend – Sunday Parkways and North American Organic Brewers Festival

The summer festival season is here; here are some things to check out over the weekend!
1. Sunday Parkways (6/26)

On Sunday, June 26, from 11 am to 4 pm, you can walk, bike, stroll, skate or roll around an 8-mile, two loop route that connects Arbor Lodge, Peninsula, Columbia, Kenton and McCoy parks without having to worry about cars. In Overlook, Ainsworth, Delaware, and Willamette Blvd will be affected.

At many of those parks, you'll find food, music, vendors, and fun activities—from a hula hoop contest and break dancing, to a kids' inflatable play zone and Zumba classes. Go to http://www.portlandsundayparkways.org/ for a schedule and map (click on the “North” button on the right).

Rep. Tina Kotek and Mayor Sam Adams will be in Kenton Park for coffee and conversation with constituents from 11:00-12:00. At noon you are invited to walk with Rep. Kotek from Kenton Park to McCoy Park.

2. North American Organic Brewers Festival at Overlook Park (June 24-26)

The North American Organic Brewers Festival will host its 7th annual event June 24 through 26 at Overlook Park, bringing together 17,000 beer lovers for51 organic craft beers, live local music, organic food, sustainability-oriented vendors and non-profits, a soda garden with complimentary root beer for minors and designated d

rivers, and a children's area with face painting and sustainable arts & crafts. Minors are welcome at all hours of the festival when accompanied by a parent.

Admission into the event is free. Beer and food cost money.

3. Good in the Neighborhood 'Multicultural' Music and Food Festival (June 24-26)

This event is the longest running African American Community Enrichment and Development Festival, in “ALL” of Oregon. The festival is anchored by several top and local National and International 'LIVE' performance acts:
Linda Hornbuckle, Unlisted Reality, Prince Tribute Band, Ashley Minniweather, Andy Stokes Band, Soul Vaccination, Ocean503, Randy Star and The Players, Iesha Spinks, Elite, The Lite, Hot Property, On Q featuring Rashan Armstrachan…and special attendance from – AFINCANDO…

You will find great cultural eats available, community shops selling goods, and several community resource table offering goods and service as needed and/or apply!
