2) Terrific result from PBOT for Bike Boulevard
From this week’s OKNA meeting: Look Sharp! The troubled dog-leg intersection at N Concord & N Skidmore has a fix on its way. The stop signs will be flipped around so that traffic on Concord will stop and Skidmore will carry through.
New speed bumps are already installed, two on either side of the intersection, to slow Skidmore traffic. The pedestrian crossing (with the ‘Abbey Road’ stripes may be raised up onto a a speed bump for better visibility.

6) Citizens are encouraged to report street light outages
With over 55,000 street lights in Portland, PBOT depends on citizens to report problems. Anyone who notices that a street light or public area light is out is encouraged to report it by calling 503-865-LAMP (5267), submitting a report online at www.portlandoregon.gov/transportation, or using the free mobile PDX Reporter app for iPhone and Android phones. If the light is in a city park, citizens should call Portland Parks & Recreation at 503-823-1600 or submit a report online at www.parkscanpdx.org.
If the light presents a hazardous situation – such as the glass or lens is broken or the fixture is in danger of falling – do not submit the online form. Instead, call 503-823-1700 immediately.

7) Do you live close to the N Killingsworth MAX station?
If so, look for a post card this week in the mail from Metro Auditor Suzanne Flynn. She is conducting a survey about the MAX.
If you live within the area bounded by N Ainsworth St, N Michigan Ave, N Alberta St, and N Denver Ave, you can complete the survey at:

Make sure your voice is heard!

8) Free Transportation Education
OKNA is currently seeking a Transportation representative; maybe this is the kick start you need! Are you interested in learning how Portland’s transportation system developed and how you can help shape its future? A FREE class for Portland residents is being offered at Portland State this fall.
Learn more on the class website, including how to apply for a FREE scholarship: portlandoregon.gov/transportation/psuclass
The City of Portland and Portland State University are teaming up for the 22nd year to offer the Portland Traffic and Transportation class. For ten weeks, this free class gives neighborhood activists the opportunity to meet with local policy makers, political leaders, and planners to gain a better understanding of the metro area’s transportation system.
