OKNA Summer Social at Patton Square Park
Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 11:00am—2:00pm
Come out with your Overlook Neighborhood Association friends for a Summer Social at Patton Square Park! OKNA provides drinks and snacks and a cold treat; come play games, use the amazing play structures; listen to live music, and get to know your neighbors! We look forward to seeing you there!
OKNA Board Elections September 8, 2025
Elections for the neighborhood association board are held at our next meeting on Monday September 8, 2025 from 6:30-8pm at The Stacks Coffeehouse.
The commitment is small: Attend a 2-hour meeting most months and spend about an hour preparing for it. Contribute on a scale that works for you after that. Access free training in board operations, land use and planning, transportation and more through the city and contribute your talents to our corner of Portland.
We are specifically looking for someone who can be our help with social media, events, and for someone to take over Porchfest!
If more than 12 people express interest in serving on the board this year, we will hold an election by the members present. If fewer, all members will serve on the board and officer positions decided at the next board meeting.
State your interest in joining the board by emailing Michelle at chair@OverlookNeighborhood.org at least 10 days before the meeting, August 29, 2025.Â

If you don’t feel inclined to jump into OKNA formally, we are always excited to have neighbors contribute in small but helpful ways beyond the board.
N/NE PSAC Meeting is Hybrid!
Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, August 21st, at 7 p.m. We will be meeting both in person and virtually.
In-person: North Precinct, 449 NE Emerson (south of Killingsworth). Judith Klefman or Akemi Ishikawa will be there to greet you.
Virtually: Look for an email on or around August 18th with a link and instructions. The meeting will be open at 6:45 p.m.
This meeting is open to any resident living within the North Precinct boundaries. Please invite your neighbors!
Ask Your Questions Ahead of Time
Do you have questions for our North Precinct partners about crime or criminal activity in your neighborhood? Please submit your questions by Friday, August 15th, 2025, to allow time for research. You can send your questions to both Judith and Akemi at the email addresses below. They will forward them to the new North Precinct Commander, Commander Leisure.

Last Wine Wednesday of the Summer August 27th!
Wine Wednesdays are a monthly block party on N Church St between Minnesota and Montana Avenues open to all neighbors in the area. There will be live music, yard games, and bring-your-own/potlatch style wine and food for folks. The next few dates will be:
August 27th all 6-9pm!

Back to School
School starts soon on Tuesday, August 27th, which means you’ll see more kids and families walking to and from school. Please drive with extra caution and be aware of increased pedestrian traffic.
Also, the Beach Bike Train is starting back up on Friday, August 29th, and will run every Friday throughout the school year. If you or someone you know is interested in joining, please fill out this survey to sign up and join the fun!
