Overlook Neighborhood Association General and Board Meeting Monday March 11, 2024 at Beach Elementary School from 6:30pm-8pm

Future Council Operations Listening Session
The Government Transition Advisory Committee and the City’s Transition Team are making recommendations to the 2025 City Council to help lay the groundwork for a collaborative and responsive council. Your insights on accessing council members, staying informed about key topics, expectations for district engagement, and public input in council and committee meetings will inform our June draft recommendations.
Join us for one of the following listening session!
March 14, 5-7p.m., Virtual session on Zoom
March 19, 5:30-7:30p.m., East Portland Community Center
March 21, 5-7p.m., Register for the virtual session on Zoom
All sessions offer the same content including an educational presentation followed by an hour of small group discussion. All sessions will include interpretation in ASL and Spanish with additional languages upon request.
We will have a recording of our presentation and a survey with the questions asked in discussion posted at portland.gov/transition. The survey will open Friday, March 8 and will close on Thursday, April 4.

Joining an advisory body is a way for Portlanders to lend their expertise and personal or professional experience to the City of Portland. As an advisory body member, you will work closely with community members and City of Portland liaisons to impact policies and programs.

Reduced Fare with TriMet Honored Citizen Hop Card
Need help with your transportation costs? If you participate in an assistance program or your household income is less than double the federal poverty level, you qualify for TriMet’s Honored Citizen Hop card with reduced fare ($1.40 for 2.5 hours or $28 for a month). You can get the first month free when you sign up for TriMet’s reduced fare based on income!
Honored Citizen is TriMet’s reduced fare for seniors aged 65+, people on Medicare, people with disabilities, people who qualify based on income, veterans, and active-duty military.

Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center Community Input Gathering
You are invited to a community gathering to help advance the community-led vision for a Center for Black Arts and Culture at the Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center (IFCC).
Thank you to everyone who provided input at our first meeting in August at Marantha Church. Your contributions are enhancing the plans to preserve and enhance this important community asset.
Join us at Jefferson High School’s Cafeteria on Wednesday, March 20 to gather in community to enjoy good food, hear a presentation, and share your feedback on the next steps. We will share how a combination of community input, financial analysis, and arts management expertise has shaped the IFCC Feasibility Study.
Wednesday, March 20, 5:30pm – 7:30pm
Jefferson High School Cafeteria, 5210 N Kerby Avenue*
5:30pm – Doors open, refreshments served

Multnomah Youth Commission Application Deadline Extended
Are you or someone you know passionate about issues like environmental sustainability, community policing, student health, and more? Want to grow your leadership skills? Apply for the Multnomah Youth Commission (MYC)!
MYC is the official youth policy body for both Multnomah County and the City of Portland and provides a voice for youth in local government. MYC members, young people ages 13-21, work to change policy affecting youth and negative community perceptions about youth.
The application deadline has been extended to April 15. For questions or help applying, email YouthCommission@PortlandOregon.gov.
