Friends of Trees: Time to start watering your new trees!

Amazing, I know, but even the amount of rain we've had this past month is not enough for your young, growing trees. Your new tree needs at least 10-15 gallons of water per week for the first two years!
Friends of Trees has a limited quantity of 'drip irrigation' bags for sale at $20/each; 503.282.8846 x10 OR you can make your own by drilling a small hole in a 5 gallon bucket.
Please start watering immediately and remember, the leading cause of death for young trees is a lack of summer watering or bark damage from lawnmowers & strimmers.

Missing Plants?

Further to last week's message telling how neighbor Nicole wrote in about the hostas walking away from her yard.. another report has come in about some rose bushes that may have gone missing without permission. If you have heard of something like this happening or had it happen to you, please report it to Portland Police! You can report it at 503.823.3333 or online at http://www.portlandonline.com/police/cor/ You can also let us know by writing Michelle at Views@OverlookNeighborhood.org
