Car Prowls

OKNA Neighbors: Car Prowls are on the uptick; don’t be a victim!

The Arbor Lodge Neighborhood Association has reported several car and garage burglaries in their area over the past weekend, and even one attempted house entry (the homeowners were in and scared the person away).

The Overlook neighborhood has had its own little rash of car prowls lately, as many as four in a one block area over the past month and at least one attempted house break-in.

Please stay safe, and keep your doors and windows locked when you’re not in, and keep your ears and eyes open when you are. In addition, remember to keep ALL desirable electronic items out of your vehicles. In one case, all the robber took was a cell phone car charger.. hardly worth the cost of replacing the broken window!

Reporting your incidents is crucial. If we do not report, as far as the police are concerned, it never happened. Our neighborhood patrols and police staffing depend on them knowing what is happening here, so please make the call.

Police say to call 911 if you see a burglary in progress. For everything else, call the non-emergency number 503.823.3333. You can also report your ‘minor’ crimes online at http://www.portlandonline.com/police/cor/

What the police told Arbor Lodge residents applies to us as well: “This neighborhood doesn’t need to put up with this kind of stuff.”
