OKNA Board Elections Monday, September 8, 2025

After a summer filled with yard sales, Porchfest, and a summer social, it’s time for OKNA to get back together for its September meeting.  We will meet from 6:30-7:30pm at The Stacks Coffeehouse at 1831 N Killingsworth St, with snacks and fizzy waters provided.
This month we’ll be recapping Overlook’s Porchfest, discussing some recent public safety issues in the neighborhood, and welcoming new voices to the Board (which could be you!)

We have (3) open board positions available, and we’d love to have some new folks aboard.
We’re an all-volunteer organization that is focused on connecting neighbors with resources and finding ways to bring the neighborhood together in social ways that build connectivity, resilience, and culture.  And if Board membership feels too steep, we’re always interested in connecting with neighbors that want to pitch in here or there.  If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail Michelle at chair@overlookneighborhood.org or Josh at sustainable@overlookneighborhood.org.

Thanks and hope to see you Monday!
(a formal agenda will be posted at www.overlookneighborhood.org three days ahead of the meeting)

Dumpster Day! Annual Household Waste Collection Event

Join us September 27, 2025 for our annual Household Waste Collection Event at the 6800 block of N. Delaware – on the east side of Arbor Lodge Park. We will be collecting all that bulky waste you’ve been saving in the basement/backyard/shed/garage from 10 am – 3 pm (styrofoam collection ends at 2 pm). This is a combined effort of Arbor Lodge, Kenton, Piedmont, and Overlook neighborhoods.

This event is also the biggest fundraiser of the year for our North Portland neighborhoods. At a suggested donation of $10, you’ll not only get to clean out your place before winter, you’ll be supporting the community projects of your neighborhood association, OKNA.

We’ll be recycling and trashing the following items:

  • Household Junk
  • Metal
  • Electronics
  • Microwaves
  • Styrofoam #6
  • Clear #1 plastic clam shells
  • Clear plastic bag – bread bags, zip locks
  • Furniture – In good shape
  • Household items
