The Columbia River Crossing project will host an open house on Wednesday, Nov 14, to share information about the bridge height analysis. Project partners, river users, businesses and neighborhood residents are invited to learn about the findings and provide feedback. The report containing the findings has been submitted to the U.S. Coast Guard and is available online.

4) Running Event Seeks Neighborhood Volunteers

The Freshwater Trust is this year’s beneficiary of a Holiday themed 1/2 Marathon and 5 K run organized by local running store, Foot Traffic. This is the third year for the event, and should be lots of fun for runners and volunteers alike. For more information about the race, please visit: www.foottraffic.us/holiday/

This year’s event will take place at the Adidas North America Campus and The Freshwater Trust would love to see some local neighbors and community members out and about during the event. The race will take place on December 16, 2012 and will go from 6:30am to about 12:30pm. They have lots of volunteer needs, from helping pass out water and food to racers to providing course support in the neighborhood.

If you would like to volunteer individually or with your group to staff the streets, cheer on runners, hand out water etc, please contact the volunteer organizer: Maggie Rounds, Holiday Half Marathon Volunteer Coordinator, The Freshwater Trust volunteer@thefreshwatertrust.org or give her a call: 503.550.4548
