5) Neighborhood Apartment Parking Survey (deadline 11/10)
Sponsored by Citywide Land Use Group

Dear Neighbors:
Our Portland community is experiencing unprecedented growth in the development of apartment buildings that include little or no off-street parking. Although a number of these types of older apartments remain along the former trolley lines, the approval of 28 new apartment buildings over the past 18 months has alarmed most of us.
Due to the recent community outcry regarding the approval of so many apartment buildings with no parking, the City’s Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) is conducting a study of residents and neighbors of eight of these older buildings. As a group of volunteers that make up the Citywide Land Use Group, we felt it was important to conduct our own, complementary survey. This survey is the result of our Apartment Parking Task Force and Editing Team’s work on the no-parking issue over the past four months. It is our attempt to clarify your concerns and needs.  We want to give neighborhoods the opportunity to provide constructive criticism to the City on this issue.

Note: Ranking Questions are interactive, Please read these Instructions

The survey questionnaire should take you about 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

Please read the entire message, posted to the OKNA website: https://overlookneighborhood.org//2012/11/neighborhood-parking-survey-add-your-thoughts/

It includes valuable additional information, like:
What’s this survey about?
How could this issue affect me? My family? My neighborhood?
Who’s behind the survey?
Why is this worth my time?

6) Street Seats-More Lost Parking? Survey (no deadline supplied, act quickly)

In an effort to enhance street vitality and support local business, the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) undertook a pilot project called Street Seats to test the permitting of temporary seating areas that extend from the sidewalk into the parking lane for people to sit, relax and enjoy the city around them.

The goal of Street Seats pilot was to expand opportunities for outdoor café seating, present an economical solution to the need for wider sidewalk space, and increase livability and business activity on streets.

During the pilot project, three facilities were installed.  These locations are:

· SE Division and SE 32nd Avenue , outside of Wafu Restaurant
· NW Everett and NW 12th Avenue , outside of Oven and Shaker Restaurant
· N Mississippi, between N Fremont St and N Beech St , outside of Mississippi Pizza.

PBOT is now reaching out to neighborhood and business communities to receive feedback on the pilot and the future of the program.

We hope that you can take the next 5 minutes to complete this survey and provide us with your comments about this program.

More information about the pilot project scope and current design guidelines can be found on the PBOT website here: www.portlandoregon.gov/transportation/59158

7) Metro Wants More Money and Your Opinion (deadline 11/19)

Should Metro ask voters to approve a 5-year parks and natural areas levy?

This quick online survey asks you:

How important is preserving water quality, wildlife habitat and providing people with great places to enjoy nature? Does the panel’s recommendation reflect your priorities?

What should the levy support? Controlling invasive weeds and protecting habitat? Increased access for walking, hiking, fishing?

Take the survey by Nov. 19, 2012.
