1) Weigh in on Portland’s budget

2) OKNA Board meeting

1) Weigh in on Portland’s budget

The city of Portland invites residents to attend public meetings about the annual budget. The purpose of these meetings is for the mayor and city council to receive testimony from community members regarding the citywide budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

The closest meeting to Overlook will be on Saturday, April 6 at Portland Community College Cascade Campus, Student Union, Room 220. The meeting starts at 10 a.m. and is scheduled to end at noon. Topic for the meeting is “invited testimony on chronic homelessness to permanent supportive housing.”

There also will be time for public testimony with speakers chosen by lottery. Testimony tickets will be available an hour prior to start time. They will be drawn at random throughout the course of the event. Each speaker will have two minutes to address the council.

Review budget documents online. If you can’t attend on April 6, check out the full list of budget hearings.

2) OKNA Board meeting

The Overlook Neighborhood Association Board will meet on Tuesday, April 2. The agenda includes discussions about parking, Columbia Pool, Albina rail yard and more. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Historic Overlook House.
