2) Local Traffic Woes This Weekend/Week

Part 2 of the I-5 closure happens this weekend. Plan your own travels carefully, and watch for lost folks in the neighborhood. ODOT promises to do a better job with the signing this time. Read more in the Oregonian.

And, at the start of next week sidewalks on the Broadway Bridge will close, one at a time beginning Monday for two weeks.
Beginning Monday, July 30, at 6 a.m. work begins on the north sidewalk, so all sidewalk traffic will share the south sidewalk. Once work is completed on the north sidewalk, work crews will reopen it and then close the south sidewalk. The project is scheduled to be finish and both sidewalks reopened by Monday, August 13. This work is being done as part of the Portland Streetcar Loop Project. Please visit www.portlandstreetcar.org for regular construction updates.

3) “What’s in Our Air?” – Local Documentary Screening (7/30)

Our neighbors in Arbor Lodge tells us they’ve been contacted about odors in the neighborhood from time to time. Have you ever wondered what’s in our air? Local film producer and clean air advocate, Sharon Genasci, will join us to talk about Portland air quality and show the 25 minute local documentary, What’s in Our Air.  Learn more about air toxics, effects, monitoring and studies by Oregon DEQ, and find out what we can do.
The free screening of What’s in Our Air will be shown at the Historic Kenton Firehouse on Monday evening, July 30th at 7:30.  We hope to see you! Brought to you by the Arbor Lodge Neighborhood Association (ALNA)
