Overlook Neighborhood Update (Nov. 9)

1) Street work on N Going Street at I-5

2) Appeal of development at Killingsworth and Denver

1) Street work on N Going Street at I-5

Street improvements on N Going Street from the I-5 North Exit 303 to N Interstate Ave will require lane closures today (Friday) through early Monday morning. The lane closures will allow crews to grind and pave the street as part of the Fixing Our Streets Program. This particular project is funded by the Heavy Vehicle Use Tax.

As part of the paving work, N Going Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction for the duration of the project. Additionally, the I-5 northbound Exit 303 off ramp will be closed starting at 11 p.m. on Friday until 4 a.m. on Monday. Eastbound traffic on N Going Street, as well as northbound and southbound traffic on N Interstate, should follow the signed detours to I-5.

The traveling public is advised to expect delays while repairs are being made. Please travel cautiously, observe all lane closures and directions by reader boards and flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible.

This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule may change.

2) Appeal of development at Killingsworth and Denver

As reported previously, the Overlook Neighborhood Association is appealing a proposed four-story building on the northeast corner of Killingsworth and Denver (1935 N Killingworth St.). The hearing before the Design Commission is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 15. This appeal is tentatively listed for 4:55-6:55 p.m. on the agenda.

If you plan to attend and testify for or against the project, please take a few minutes to review this advice for appellants.
