1) OKNA Board meeting on Tuesday

The Overlook Neighborhood Association Board will meet on Tuesday at Atomic Pizza (1936 N Killingsworth St.), 6:30-8:30 p.m. On the agenda are revisions to the city’s neighborhood notification requirements for developers, upcoming board elections and more. Meetings are open to the public to observe.

Amended 8/5/18: Consideration of funding for the North Portland Transportation Summit has been added to the agenda.

2) Filming in Overlook

Crews from the Disney production Timmy Failure will be in the Overlook Neighborhood on several days in August. The first shoot will be on Friday, Aug. 3, near the painted intersection at Melrose-Concord-Failing-Overlook. It will involve a drone, and flaggers will hold traffic for short periods of time. If possible, drivers and bicyclists should choose an alternate route. Filming will occur starting as early as 5 a.m. and continue to noon.

Another shoot will occur on Wednesday-Thursday (Aug. 8-9) around N Gay Street between Willamette and Sumner. Parking restrictions will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday and end at 11 p.m. Thursday. Gay will be closed to all traffic except local traffic on Thursday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

3) Adidas update

Adidas recently shared an update on its interactions and plans with the Overlook Neighborhood. The letter addresses employee-neighbor interactions and communications opportunities. From the letter:

It’s incredibly important to us that we continue to be a valued member of the Overlook community. We understand there are concerns from neighbors, and we want you to know we’re listening and doing a number of things to make this better for the community.

We’ve established a dedicated team that works directly with the Overlook community to listen, learn and regularly attend Overlook Neighborhood Association meetings.

Please also note that the adidas village  will host a Gridiron Girls/Jen Welter event on Wednesday, Aug. 8. It will include amplified sound.
